Let's Process: Loosening up
do artists need permission to reinvent themselves time and time again?
I’m sure you can sense lately that I am just in such a transitional time in my life.
I feel like I’m floating in an abyss of self discovery, understanding, impatience and occasionally, self compassion.
Within this period I have so many things crashing into one another but my ultimate goal is to simply find contentment in who I am and what I want to spend my time doing.
This this period of my life right now, I just simply cannot have huge, long, detailed oriented projects because I don’t have the time to commit to it.
When I do get the time (which is never guaranteed), its minimal and takes too long to complete something and I lose the buzz. I just lose interest even faster than if I was able to dedicate 4 solid days to bringing something to fruition. (the feeling of a good flow, amirite?!)
I have and always will want to create work with great details, intricate line work, shadows for days and textures galore.
BUT right now, I want to lean into something a little different, new, refreshing even.
