Let’s rewind to the early pandemic and the moment I had just joined TikTok (only as a viewer).
All I wanted to watch were people getting dressed, doing things that made them feel good because we really all needed that, right?
Seeing women get increasingly confident the more they played with outfits was just so contagious!
After months of confinement and just that overall blah feeling, I was looking for a way to just simply feel better.
Enter Created Colorful. A small business that was helping women find clothes in their “color season” that brought out their most natural features.
I was hooked. I mean, I was already obsessed with color relationships and inspired to understand my style, why wouldn’t I want to feel confident about the clothes I wore too??
Fast forward a few weeks after I purchased their consultation, I followed the instructions to take a LOT of pictures with different colors draped over me and I was given the results Deep Autumn:
This has CHANGED the way I feel, I enjoy getting dressed more and it inspires all my creative outlets now. It also made getting ready more exciting—- even when the pandemic blues were SO high.
If you’re interested in learning more about the colors that could be best for your natural features you can book your own consult here and use the code BRITTANY for $20 off.
I think this was the start of me really wanting my artwork to inspire and connect women my age. I wanted my work to make women feel the way I did from this experience.

Now let me reconnect all this together on why I think everything we do is creative.
It’s quite a compelling concept to think that every choice you make is a step into your own creative voice:
how you plan your days or develop routines
the way you cook or follow a recipe (or not really follow in my case…)
the hobbies you choose
the books your read (and don’t read!)
the way you write
the gestures you make during conversations
the clothes you buy or what you wear
Many of these choices don’t feel like actual choices at all because many of them we just instinctively do. We subconsciously have preferences and paths for our interests without actually intending to do so.
